I joined the BRC Board because I wanted to contribute to and support the mission of this profoundly impactful organization.

What keeps you the most motivated and engaged with BRC?

I am deeply impressed by the compassion and commitment of all of the management and staff with whom I have met.

If you were to give someone one reason for why they should support BRC, what would that reason be?

It is the most effective way to make a life-changing difference in the life of a fellow New Yorker.

Help build a more compassionate city. Invest in BRC

Rather than create wealth for private developers, could we use the same shelter contract to create housing for low-income people?

How has BRC changed the city’s shelter system?

BRC pioneered development of the “Safe Haven” program — a safer, more supportive, lower-stress alternative to traditional shelters.

More than 400 people have gone through the doors of this 20-room safe haven since 2008. 200 clients have been successfully placed in permanent housing.
